i got a lot of email today

I think we're getting new readers because we've been mentioned in Newsweek! LINK. That is what I have been told by means of email, anyway. Thank you all for coming down to the site. We hate Crocs here. Why? Because they are to your eyes what secondhand smoke is to your lungs.

Anyway, I will copy and paste stuff from old entries. This kills two birds, because 1. I don't have the time to write a whole new entry because I am killing myself trying to finish an article by deadline for the local weekly newspaper, and 2. This will be helpful to our new readers. Welcome, all of you. Those who agree with us and also those who disagree.

I am Vincenzo Ravina. I run the website. My personal website is located at VincenzoRavina.com. Kate Leth started the website with me. Her personal site is located here: KateLeth.com.

Oh, we also sell t-shirts and pins and things. I'll get that out of the way right here.

You can get to the shop by clicking HERE.

And we have burned Crocs as well as cut them with scissors. Video footage is here:

Kate and I wrote an article for Emirates Today ages ago on the subject of Crocs. Click on the image to make it readable.

I am a retired Rn,worked on my feet for almost 40 years. These feet have worn many many different work shoes ,also high heels, wedgies, sandles, flip flops, saddle shoes, debbies etc. I have a pair of Crocs and I dont really think they are comfortable! If you wear them without stockings they burn the bottom of your feet after two hours or so.I dont know why they are so popular.I will not buy another pair. I saw your site off some article and I have to say that this is stupid. I mean you hate them yet you pay for crocs so you can destroy them on your site. You do know that by buying them, you're prolonging their existence right? Stop being so hateful and move on!

I like to talk about stool.

Wow, you work for a newspaper? You have this much time on your hands?? Must not have too many stories to work on, and why do you care what people wear anyways?? I am sure YOU also own and LOVE something someone else HATES!! ... I was going to keep reading your blog but it seems like a waste of my time. Get a real hobby buddy…

Hm. Well, interesting. I agree, they are awful ugly. I do own a pair, simply for wearing to the pool, and my 3 year old is in love with his "Lightning McQueen " "crocs" which aren't actually really crocs but sort of. But I don't ever wear them in public because I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes.

hi guys, checked the link from the newsweek article. the croc wearing mercedes driving hit and run story was hilarious. thanks for my laugh of the day, i really needed one.

Anonymous said...

Never even heard of "Crocs" before today..

I did see your site mentioned in the Newsweek story. I hate the shoes it drives me nuts trying to figure out why people continually flock to this kind of junk. I remember Jellies, never owned a pair, but then again I live where it is in the 90s all summer so wearing thin rubber shoes isn't such a great idea. Keep up the good work.

You know what, people need to stop flapping their gums and telling you how much they think your site stinks or "get a new hobby" whatever they are just trying to make themselves feel better for owning and personaly enjoying these hideous things. People need to stop being so hateful on other peoples oppinions, everyone is entitled to their own, and if you dont like it dont freakin read it, or better yet dont take the time to actualy write a comment on here if you think its dumb you moron! anyway i agree, crocs are incredibly ugly lol they need to be banned.

Thank you! Thank you!!!! I am one of the many who found your blog thru the link in Newsweek article. I have always hated the stupid croc shoes. And why would you wear holey shoes to garden? I don't get that at all. Just an excuse to wear ugly shoes. Yuck yuck YUCK!!!!

Keep up the good work! Down with Crocs!!!!

Thank you for hating crocs nearly as much as me! To the person who said they'd never heard of crocs before today: You're a liar. :)

You are becoming really well known in social media--a European blogger has picked you guys up and told me (the uninformed about America American) about you. Nice blog. Do you know Crocs in Paris as of February cost a ridiculous 50 euros?

Anonymous said...

You know, I'm glad there's a handful of people out here who hate these things as much as I do.

Every day, the sight of so many vivid colors irritates me. Whatever happened to white, blue, gray, black, brown? The hideous factor of these shoes is overwhelming, even if they happen to be comfortable (I wouldn't know, as one can't pay me near enough to get my feet in a pair)

An idea: if you're gonna keep the crocs around, make them colors that actually blend in.

Hey guys got the link from the newsweek. I just wanted to say I have never worn or owned a pair of crocs and I am proud of it!

My 20-year-old son and I were just taking about these the other day when we saw a mother and daughter combo of these ugly shoes--in hot pink.

I don't get it. "IF" they are so comfortable, why can't they at least be in available in some colors that don't make everyone see your feet coming from a mile away? And your feet have to sweat in them, I just know it.

Yep, I'm one of those who saw the Newsweek article! LOL

Anonymous said...

I really have never heard of these before. I suppose I just don't look at people's feet.

Your vids, however, are awesome! Nice work! :-)

Another hater from Newsweek! Keep up the good work, love the website!!

Anonymous said...

Wow...just when I thought I was alone. The thing is, generally, I'm about as anti-fashion as they come and find nothing more ridiculous than seeing someone get upset over a silly new fashion trend. But ever since I started seeing these bright-colored plastic-looking thinkgs...good god...the horror...the horror....

Unknown said...

those shoes could have went to a poor child in africa who is running around bare foot and Im not even kidding about that! Instead your cutting them up just to show you don't like the fashion trend! If you ask me that is so retarded, even more retarded then you say crocs are! Also those shoes are very good for people who work on their feet all day, my mom being a waitress loves them because her feet don't hurt after work.

Anonymous said...

Crocs look fucking ugly... and they aren't really comfortable... Whats really funny is that this trend has spreaded outside the US and is now present here in Puerto Rico...

Anonymous said...

amazing work with this page!! :)
like the last post said, it's not only in the US, it's been spreading all over the world, I live in El Salvador, and it's like crazy here X_x
let's put an end to this madness PLEASE! :)

"They [CROCS] are a sure sign of the apocalypse"

- Clinton Kelley
(co-host of TLC's 'What Not To Wear')

It's real people. They are the ugliest, most idiotic affront to fashion itself, in a great long while. The most horrifying aspect of this trend, is that it has spawned a number of look-a-like CROCS, which are even shittier than the real ones. I wasn't sure that was possible, but take my word for it...it is. I get the whole, 'I-work-on-my-feet-for-hours' argument, but come on people. There are other choices out there.
Also, to the person who brought up the donation to Africa scenario...what in the world makes you think an African wants to make themselves look ridiculous too. I'd rather have gaping soars on my feet, than wear these abortions of Wal-Mart Capitalism around.

Love the site. Hate Crocs. Not only are they ugly, but I hear they are dangerous to.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for this great site! Perhaps there is still hope for the USA.

Anonymous said...

Never owned a pair, I think they're ugly too... but who cares!? Really! Sorry to say it, but you guys sure have a lot of time on your hands bashing other peoples shoes. I've heard they're pretty comfortable and I wouldn't be afraid to put a pair on. Why not just relax and let people dress themselves? I don't care what you wear! How silly that you all care so much. :) Can't believe I took time out of my day to click on your link.

I just read the newsweek article which is why I am checking out this site. Great site!!! I made a vow a long time ago to NEVER wear Crocs. They are just ugly. I love how you compared wearing Crocs because of how comfortable they are to going to the store in your bathrobe. I'm a nursing student and on the first day of class, they told us we couldn't wear crocs to clinicals (darn). Most of the class let out a whiny sigh. And although they fought it, the faculty still decided against it thank goodness. They are so scummy and look like they came from the local dollar store. But, thought you might like to know that some of ht hospitals in my town have banned the use of them (some of them - not all unfortunately) because of all of the holes in the top. Geesh - that's a shame... (note sarcasm...)

Anonymous said...

I hate them and so do my coworkers! We have the unfortunate fate to have to sell them in our store. Though as much as I hate them, I don't think i'd spend that much money just to destroy them.

Anonymous said...

dude! this website is the greatest! that green crocs stuff was hillarious! Crocs ain't that comfortable if i have to say so myself, and don't know why people like them so much....

you made my day! HELL WITH CROCS!

Anonymous said...

Gack. The worst shoes ever. And to those who say they're the best for running around all day in, please. I wear four inch stilettos, take the metro, and am on my feet for a good portion of each day, and they're fine. Ya'll just have wimpy feet.

I weep because my sister owns a pair. HORRIBLE camouflage with some dumb charm on them. I've tried to teach her, but she won't learn.

And journalism students rock! :)

i could not agree more...

Watching a pair of Crocs burning..
You can't just explain that feeling.

Oh Lord.
So beautiful.
So freaking beautiful.

I'm an investor and came to know Crocs (30 minutes ago) only because I'm hunting for bargains. My first research is who and why abhors the brand. I saw your youtube video and read this article. Although I'm not sure if I will really become a Crocs investors, I'm certainly going to become a Crocs customer. I'm buying Crocs for myself first, and maybe for my entire family too.

Crocs' reported 186 lawsuits might have been enough to prevent me from becoming an investor (even at this price level), but I'm sure to buy its shoes.

Hahahahahahaha! You guys rock my socks off. This site rocks and makes me laugh until I pee my pants, well, not literally, because that's kind of nasty, but really your shinanigins are awesome. I don't think what you guys are doing is a waste of time. If you don't like them and want to spread the good word, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not for or against crocs. I could care less if they exisited, but if people want to wear them, whatever, but I flippin' LOVE that you guys have this site.

Keep doing what you're doing, 'cause it rocks!

I love hating Crocs. :)

And I love people who love Crocs, as they are invariably just a little bit silly.

Always a laugh to be found within croc lovers.

Love the site, by the way ;)

After last post on marketing without search engines, I decided to follow up with a strategy you can use to get quality free traffic. One of the easiest ways to get visitors to your web site is to spend money. Nothing is more effortless then paying for traffic. But if you can’t afford it or don’t want to pay, there’s an equally simple but free way to get traffic: ad swaps.
